Melissa Krueger | Mezzo-Soprano
Mezzo-soprano Melissa Krueger is an accomplished performer and educator in Houston, Texas. Now in her fifth season with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus, she will perform in their upcoming Messiah. Previously, she has sung with Minnesota Opera, Austin Opera, and Cedar Rapids Opera, including the premiere of Strokes of Genius: The Grant Wood Operas. Past roles include Lazuli (L’étoile), Unulfo (Rodelinda), Jo (Little Women), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Countess Ceprano (Rigoletto) with Opera in the Heights. A Houston native, she holds degrees from Southwestern University and Indiana University.
As a teacher, Melissa’s private voice students have performed with the HGO Children’s Chorus, gained admission to collegiate music programs as well as HSPVA, and most notably, one made their Santa Fe Opera debut in Turn of the Screw this past summer. Melissa also serves on the faculty of The St. Constantine School as assistant choral director, staff accompanist, and director of the Constantine Chamber Orchestra.
