Opera in the Heights Announces Children's Auditions for The Christmas Spider and Tosca

Opera in the Heights is seeking talented young singers for our 2026-2027 season productions of The Christmas Spider by Clint Borzoni and John de los Santos and Tosca by Giacomo Puccini.

The Christmas Spider

We are seeking child performers for the principal roles of:

ZOYA

• Female-presenting child, approximately ages 7–10

• Bright, imaginative, energetic younger sister

• Strong acting ability and clear singing voice required

DMYTRO

• Male-presenting child, approximately ages 8–11

• Protective older brother with a playful spirit

• Strong acting ability and clear singing voice required

The opera tells the beloved Eastern European Christmas legend of a poor family whose faith and kindness are rewarded by a miraculous Christmas morning. The roles of Zoya and Dmytro carry much of the story and require confident young performers who enjoy both singing and acting.

Tosca Chorus

Opera in the Heights is also seeking a small number of children to join the chorus for Tosca. Children should be comfortable learning music, following stage direction, and participating in rehearsals alongside adult artists.

Audition Requirements

• Prepare one song that showcases your voice.

We welcome performers of all backgrounds and experience levels and encourage young artists who love singing, storytelling, and theater to audition.
