Job/Internship Opportunities

Monday, September 28th:

Opera in the Heights (OH!) is seeking enthusiastic and dependable interns interested in gaining hands-on experience with a professional performing arts organization. This is a great opportunity for students and emerging professionals interested in arts administration, music, orchestra operations, theater production, events, and nonprofit management.

Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside our staff, musicians, artists, and production team while learning what goes into bringing an opera production from planning to the stage.

Internship Areas

Depending on experience, interests, and organizational needs, interns may assist in one or more of the following areas:

Office & Arts Administration

• General office and administrative support

• Organizing documents, schedules, and production materials

• Assisting with communications and correspondence

• Helping with data entry and record keeping

• Supporting marketing, outreach, and special projects

• Assisting with performances, events, and front-of-house preparation

Orchestra & Music Operations

• Assisting with orchestra preparation and logistics

• Organizing and distributing music

• Helping prepare rehearsal and performance spaces

• Supporting musicians and artistic staff during rehearsals

• Assisting with orchestra-related administrative tasks

Production & Backstage

• Supporting the production team during rehearsals and performances

• Assisting with stage and backstage organization

• Helping with props, costumes, scenery, and production materials as needed

• Assisting with load-in, setup, rehearsals, performances, and strike

• Helping coordinate production logistics

Events & General Operations

• Assisting with special events and community programs

• Supporting audience and artist hospitality

• Helping prepare materials and spaces for events

• Providing additional operational support based on the needs of each production

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants who are:

• College or university students, recent graduates, or emerging professionals

• Interested in opera, classical music, theater, nonprofit organizations, or the performing arts

• Reliable, organized, professional, and willing to learn

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

• Available for some evenings and weekends, particularly during production periods

Previous opera experience is not required. We are especially interested in individuals who are curious about the performing arts and eager to gain practical, behind-the-scenes experience.
