Kathryn Frady

You may know her as the new Interim General Director of Opera in the Heights, but for this production she also serves as Stage Director for Don Pasquale, bringing her leadership and artistic vision directly to the stage.

Critically acclaimed soprano and stage director Kathryn Frady has worked throughout the United States, Europe, and South Africa. Frady has been widely praised for her vocal range, dramatic talent, and immersive and creative direction. Frady received Most Memorable Opera Performance Awards for her portrayals of the title roles in ToscaSuor AngelicaSusannah, Nedda and Stage Director in Pagliacci, Violetta in La Traviata, and Amelia in the World Premiere of Amelia Lost

Recent highlights include the double bill of Josephine and Pagliacci at Union Avenue where critics described her staging as “astute, charming, and convincing;” The Tragedy of Carmen at Tulsa Opera, Nedda and Stage Director of Pagliacci at Marble City Opera, Mother & Stage Director of Hansel and Gretel at Wichita Grand Opera; Hansel and Gretel at Mobile Opera, and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd at Opera Idaho.  

Frady has a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas, is the Founding Executive Artistic Director of Marble City Opera and the General Director of Opera in the Heights.
