Amia Langer

Amia Langer, soprano, is a 2026 Resident Artist with Teatro Nuovo, covering Fiorilla in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia.

Upcoming engagements include Norina in Don Pasquale with Opera in the Heights, and a return to Ars Lyrica Houston as Euridice/La Musica in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo. Earlier In the 2025-2026 season Ms. Langer performed as Bastienne in Mozart: Cats and Mice (Bastien und Bastienne) with Mercury Chamber Orchestra, making her MCO debut. She also made her role and company debut as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel with Annapolis Opera.

In the 2024-2025 season she performed as Sandman/Dew Fairy with the Grand Teton Music Festival, and made her role and company debut as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with Salt Marsh Opera. Ms. Langer later returned to Salt Marsh Opera in concert, singing works by Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, and Puccini. She was also a national finalist in the 2025 Houston Saengerbund Vocal Competition.

Previous awards include an Encouragement Award from the Upper Midwest Region of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. She was also the North Dakota–Manitoba District Winner in the 2022–2023 season.

She has participated in young artist programs and education outreach programs with Chautauqua Opera Company, Chautauqua Opera in the Schools, Houston Grand Opera Opera to Go!, Festival Napa Valley, Brevard Music Festival, and Houston Grand Opera’s Young Artist Vocal Academy. Ms. Langer holds degrees from the University of Houston (go Coogs!) and Westminster Choir College.
