Thanks for a wonderful season!

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Enrique Carreón-Robledo, conductor of Don Carlo last season, as Artistic Director. We know you will join us in welcoming the new Maestro.

After thorough consideration of the repertoire originally planned for our upcoming season, Maestro has made some changes to provide ideal musical and dramatic means for our artists to shine, both those returning, and some exciting new singers from international and local arenas. The four operas, two originally planned and two additions, will create an ideal vehicle to carry out our mission to support emerging talent.

The enhanced season begins with Donizetti’s comic Daughter of the Regiment, followed by Mozart’s Così fan tutte, with a theme of fiancé changing. Donizetti’s powerful portrayal of English royals, Anna Bolena, inaugurates 2012, and we conclude with a dramatic favorite, Verdi’s Il Trovatore.

Of course, we remain the casual opera in intimate Lambert Hall that serves cookies and Starbucks coffee, in a neighborhood with great restaurants and free parking.

Welcome back to a season of exceptional entertainment, outstanding young voices and emotional thrills. Thanks for supporting Opera in the Heights. We couldn’t do it without you!
