Lara Tillotson Joyal*, Tosca, is making her debut with OH in this role. Last summer she performed the role of Nedda in Opera Fort Collins’ double bill of Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci alongside Metropolitan Opera veterans Charles Edwin Taylor and Cynthia Lawrence and sang the Mother in The Living Opera’s new production of Hansel and Gretel. Sherecently enjoyed her international debut in the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica with OperaEstate in Rome, Italy. Ms. Joyal received her bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from the acclaimed University of North Texas and went on to receive her MM degree in opera performance from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Her performances as a guest vocalist for the Dallas Stars, their professional hockey team, were nationally televised on ESPN. Additional roles include Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Mariane (Tartuffe), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Phoebe (Yeoman of the Guard), Second Woman (Dido and Aeneas), Mad Margaret (Ruddigore), and Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly). She has appeared with The Dallas Opera, New Orleans Opera Association, The Living Opera, the Richardson Symphony, and the Lake Cities Symphony. |
