New to the Opera

Welcome to the Opera

If you haven’t attended opera before, you’ll find Opera in the Heights to be a fun, casual experience.  We like to say we are seriously unstuffy. You do not need to know fancy foreign languages. While our operas are generally sung in the original language, all of them have surtitles projected in English.  That coupled with the fact that you are so close to the action means that you’ll always understand what is going on.  In fact you’ll become totally involved in the story.

You’ll find that Opera in the Heights fans are folks who love and enjoy opera.  Most importantly they want to share their love for opera. and they will be happy to answer any question you may have and help you to enjoy the performance.

Dress Code

Business attire and dressy casual is typical.  Some people dress up more than others--you might see a few sequins and beads, but not many.  Feel free to dress in whatever style makes you feel most comfortable.
