Opera in the Heights offers a number of outreach programs both in Lambert Hall and off-site at a venue of your choice. We have programs for elementary through college classes as well as for groups of senior citizens at recreation centers and concerts or full performances of our current opera. Check the links below for specific information about each type of program then call the office to discuss details.
We have been performing since 1996 and offer six performances of each of four operas plus eight special one-hour performances and eight dress rehearsals for students sponsored by The Boeing Company.
Why Is Participation in Oh! Beneficial for Your Students?
Opera in the Heights offers a variety of outreach programs designed to give students of any age an introduction to the world of opera with a taste of the music, drama, and spectacle which have made opera a world-wide cultural icon for centuries. These programs will pique the curiosity of your students, launch many into a life-long interest, and, perhaps, motivate some to pursue a musical or operatic career.
Opera in the Heights can introduce your students to opera in an ideal way. Lambert Hall, seating 316, is both intimate and welcoming. Students see opera close up and are, therefore, truly involved in the story of the opera. The small hall is also not formal or stuffy or threatening. We’re truly proud of the “thank you” letters we receive from students.
