About Us

At the end of our 13th season Oh! is a vibrant nationally and internationally acclaimed opera house. We provide a stage for emerging opera performers and bring affordable opera to the Greater Houston Area. Auditions are held in Houston, and New York City.

We identify rising young stars, give them an opportunity to sing a major role, and advance their careers. This season three of our young stars moved on to the New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera. Over 40 recognized singers credit us as instrumental in their advancement.

Four, fully-staged, traditional operas are produced each season. This season has been "sold out" at 95% capacity. Next season we will reintroduce 8 shows, rather than our traditional 6, for La Boheme. As a rapidly growing organization, we continue to meet new performance milestones.

Historic Lambert Hall with 316 seats brings the audience close to the stage. The performances of young, bright singers bring energy and drama. The audience is swept up in the action! All feel welcome. Once a small community organization, Oh! is now a uniquely special, nationally recognized company. Star-quality young singers from around the US and Europe covet an opportunity to perform with us.
