Mary Ann Stewrt, Principessa, returns after a smashing debut as Carmen this past fall. She has performed in China, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, Mexico and the United States. Recent performances include Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena for Opera Orchestra of New York, a Verdi Gala performance at Weill Hall, and Urbain in Les Huguenots with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México all under the baton of Eve Queler; the Madrigal Singer in Manon Lescaut conducted by Plácido Domingo, Siegrune in Die Walküre, the Sixth Flower Maiden in Parsifal, the Page in Salome, and Idamante (cover) in Idomeneo with Washington National Opera; the Old Lady in Candide with the Euro Festivale Mediterraneo in Rome with John DeMain conducting; Beethoven’s Mass in C and Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall; Ravel’s Shéhérazade with the Morales Dance Company; and excerpts from Parsifal (Act II, Kundry) and Norma (Adalgisa) with the Ravello Festival in Italy. In 2007-08 she will debut with Opéra de Nice as Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Ms. Stewart was a World Finalist in the Luciano Pavarotti International Competition and most recently a winner in the Liederkranz Foundation Scholarship Competition.
