Bernstein: Candide
Young love, relentless optimism, and a whirlwind voyage around the world.
Based on Voltaire’s novel, Candide takes its title character and its audience on a thrilling and often absurd journey full of laughs, hardship, and unexpected life lessons. Leonard Bernstein’s brilliant score has made this operetta a favorite amongst devotees of both opera and more popular forms of musical theatre. To quote one of its many memorable tunes, it is “the best of all possible worlds!” Opera in the Heights is proud to present this modern classic to honor Mr. Bernstein’s centennial year.
