In our 12th season Oh! is a vibrant nationally and internationally acclaimed opera house. We provide a stage for emerging young opera performers and bring affordable opera to the Greater Houston Area. Auditions are held in Houston, New York and Chicago.
We identify rising young stars, give them an opportunity to sing a major role, and advance their careers. This year three of our young stars moved on to the New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera. Over 40 recognized singers credit us as instrumental in their advancement.
Four, fully-staged, traditional operas are produced each season. This season has been “sold out” at 95% capacity. For the 2008-2009 season, performances will increase from 26 to 32. Audience capacity will increase from 7,800 to 9,600 seats. As a rapidly growing organization, we continue to meet new performance milestones.
Historic Lambert Hall with 300 seats brings the audience close to the stage. The performances of young, bright singers bring energy and drama. The audience is swept up in the action! All feel welcome.
Once a small community organization, Oh! is now a uniquely special, nationally recognized company. Star-quality young singers from around the US and Europe covet an opportunity to perform with us.

Dress Code
Business attire and dressy casual is typical. Some people dress up more than others--you might see a few sequins and beads, but not many. Feel free to dress in whatever style makes you feel most comfortable (no shorts please).
Purchasing Tickets
We regularly sell out the Saturday nights and often the second weekend’s three performances. We recommend that you make your plans as early as possible.
To meet unprecedented demand, a third full weekend of performances will be added for the 08-09 season.
